Your Mask
You sit in class full of kids.
I watch the way you wear your mask
to cover the real you.
You are like graffiti covering the building walls
judged by everyone but loved by so many.
you have a story behind your cover.
I wish you would show the world
the side I love but no one knows about....
I can see the real you but it’s like a game of hide and go seek,
your cover always wins.
The first time I met you it was in Mrs. Arnold's 10th grade english class
your real self was showing
that was until you started to fall for a girl
her blonde hair and blue eyes caught your attention
like a hungry lion seeking its prey
She doesn’t like your true colors
she said it was too weird.
Ever since then you wear your mask
like if your life depends on it.
I hope one day you will see
the real you is perfect for me,
and everyone else except for you.
Until that day I’ll be patiently waiting
enjoying the memories of you
before you met her.
