sorry to bore you (here lies)
keep a notebook and fill it with things we haven't heard before
but you've heard that before
the death of an artist
doesn't come with a gunshot or a heart failure
the death of an artist
doesn't simply "come about"
the artist dies
when they can't find anything we haven't heard before anymore
and I'm sorry to bore you, but not everyone gets the chance to speak at their own funeral
the leaves have all fallen off the trees but you've heard that before
I've walked six feet straight down and I'm not sure if I'll pick up the pen again
until then
here lies

Let it speak to you. Let it take you somewhere it didn't take me.
