A Better Reality
You know It's crazy to me.
Growing up these 18 years & I already have a saying I repeat.
"Remain unavoidably determined to prevent a continuous loop of year after year incertitude."
That's what I believe.
Like all stories go
Growing up, I had nothing to do -- but cool --- up in my room, from noon to noon.
Eyes on the tv; Shootin these zombies
With my boys behind me
Screaming "NOTHING CAN STOP MEE!"
Then BOOM. A shot to the back
& mad at the fact my life ended like that. The end -- just like death.
Because after death -- you don't come back
That was only a game -- reality isn't the same.
A shot to the back or a shot to the brain.
- that's game. no replays..
After effects leave your family in pain.
Cause of gangs -- A lost cause with a tooly -- A fooly -- A dude who wants nothing but money and booty.
Excuse me, If I came off as agitated or aggravated that the adolescents in these streets don't even try to make it.
*pause*
That's crazy...
------------------
So I constantly give myself & friends a reality check.
Checking to make sure we don't condone ourselves to peer pressure or the stress.
So here I am -- A Senior with a ponderous mentally of those same old questions.
What will I be?
Who will I become?
How will I do it?
Growing up these 18 years, I still have no idea on what I like the most.
Whether It be gaming, tech, or the clothes -- I don't know.
Or do I switch It up.
ALRIGHT MOM, MILITARY I GO! --- NO
I'm not ready to take on such a role.
So I take a strollll -- walks In the neighborhood,
yeah everything's good,
laid out the way It should.
So I remain vigilant,
on guard for my moment, knowing there isn't a way of success without a risk in it.
------------------
Growing up to where I am now,
I vibe It out
A little saying I usually say.
Remain nonchalant, do good deeds & remember to pray.
So I can play
One day with all the gadgets they make today.
from cars to clothes or tv's on display
Or the fact that I can help my family outta situations I can't help them with today.
One day -- It'll come -- one day
A life I wish to live
A family of my own -- hoping they stay
throughout struggles & pain,
Friends the same -- hoping they remain,
So we all come out on top - one day.
But for now we grow -- grow & live through the days that are to come.
High school for us is almost done.
So we needa live it up now -- have our fun.
* laughs *
It's not forever we stay young.

My perspective on life is what motivated me to write this piece. Hoping someone somewhere would take it into consideration that there is a better path, better than the one you live now. If you are not comfortable with the way things are, change it! Adjust your life to your definition of happiness or comfort.
