Swaying In Different Shades
Contiguous bodies
Mingle with each other
Without saying a word,
Without looking at one
Another. They interact
By tapping their feet and
moving their heads in
A trance, in a rhythm.
It's almost hard to resist.
No mellifluous word spoken
No smiles exchanged
Just elegant actions
Of hands exchanged
Amidst this, our eyes
Meet and I burn under
Your gaze. It's unnerving
And compelling. And
My cheeks are equivalent to
the red streaks of dawn.
Those only leave pulchritude in its wake.
You stretch your hand
Out and I know it's an
Earnest invite. I place
My hand in yours and
It's black on white.
We synchroniser like
Those robots they talk
Rave about in the contemporary world.
And just like that, we sway.

It's a simple poem about how people connect while dancing. The colour, creed or gender does not matter. If two people bond in such a unique way, then no one has the right to question or reprimand them.
