A Fallen Kingdom
You destroyed the foundation that was built for us.
Every room in that house has some memory of you.
The memories of good vs. evil play out in my mind,
Like endless poker game, you never know what's next.
No, I'm not jealous but yes I do envy you,
For living the perfect life behind your brick wall of lies.
Your kingdom rises while ours crumbles
Like ashes in the wind, forever gone, forever forgotten.
But still my heart yearns for something more,
To fill in the missing pieces of this lost puzzle,
To rebuild this foundation and start something new.
Expecting for you to change.
Waiting for my life to be complete.
Hoping to rebuild a fallen kingdom.

I wrote this piece about my father because after my parents became divorced, he was absent in the times that I needed him most. Families are very important but some do fall like fallen castles.
