Cat Verses #1 - Imagination

I like to imagine myself, lying down on the beach,
The golden sands of Florida wrapping me up like a warm blanket on a cold, winter day
I imagine the ocean waves taking me
Into the depths of the seventh seas
Underneath, I find life under the sea,
As shown by the great Walt Disney.
The singing crabs, the talking turtles and the lost fish.
The slow tides graceful bring me back to shore
Oh, what a luxurious time to cherish
Landing me back on Florida’s beach, shall I say no more?

Then I wake up, in the body of a cat
Damn, I was only half way through my beauty nap
But of course, reality has hit me like a metal bat
Or maybe it was wooden, I don’t give a crap

I love dreaming, as you have read
If your pesky little self, can comprehend what I've said
Alright, imagine this
"Imagine the tree of life, let's call it Swiss
Strange name, but an awfully nice twist
The base starting as thee
Branches growing to show thy family
Thy friends and acquaintances
Years gone and thou had grown bigger than a fig tree
As close as the bonds may be
They remain as fragile as a cup of tea
Which may shatter at any given moment
If not taken care of, according to how it was spoken.
Or if given to a fool
Whose weakness is the mind of a mule
A person with no rules…"

Now imagine this…

Welcome to the madhouse
Welcome to my mind
Abundance of lights that have been doused
Me, myself, I have been quarantined

Hidden beyond the gates of hell
Lay the crying souls, of misery and despair
Oh please! Take us away from this bloody dwell
These devils are not forgiving, this I cannot bare

I'm afraid we cannot, it's a matter of safety
Have you noticed what you've been doing, lately?
My citizens cannot perish from your acts of pain
The faithful will be at rest, I will not let them die in vain

I consider myself a thought provoking being
Creating reality, through verses of rhymes
Can you decipher what I am speaking?
Of course you can, but some may consider it a crime

Stay tuned for more

Drive to the edge of tomorrow, it'll be at the end

The author's comments:

Just free verses, through the eyes of a cat.

Imagination spilling onto pen and paper.

Some fun, some serious.

But in the end, it's a completion of my work :)
