Thank you for keeping my writing skills sharp,
For drawing me in,
And hitting your mark.
Thank you for making sure I stay awake,
No piece of me settled,
Recounting mistakes.
Thank you for giving me enough to hold on,
Letting go is too easy,
If I do then you're gone.
And thank you, because out of this hurt comes beauty.
I might be in pain
But pain breeds poetry.
