I'm Sorry
you know what regret is?
it’s the acid burning in your throat
the words unspoken
the goodbyes you never got to say
it’s the screams ripping your insides to shreds
it’s the apologies you crammed into your heart
it’s the blood spilling into the porcelain tub
it’s me screaming at you,
telling you that we can’t fix something
that we broke years ago
it’s me choking on my spit,
gurgling as i try to tell you
how strong my love had been
it’s me bleeding,
bleeding out in a porcelain tub
and kissing your dead lips until
we
are both
numb

This was inspired by someone who'd once been my best friend. We stopped communicating for a while and I had actually fallen in love with them and it was terrible. I'm just trying to help ease my pain; I miss you so much.
