You could engulf the world with the tides of your smile

you could turn MY world upside down

then right side up with your disarming toothy grin

 you could make laughter bubble up inside me

like fizz in a shaken up soda bottle

my emotions would slosh all over the place

for so long I didn't know who to be

without the tickle of your breath

on the nape of my neck

or the corded muscle of your arms

flexing when they held me close

even walking with your warm fingers

laced through my own

exchanging witty jabs( at each other)

always back and forth

until I was belly up

watching the seconds turn into minutes

the minutes trickling down to hours
