Favorite Quote:
There are years that ask questions and years that answer.

My father is smiling

And whatever tired storms
Had raged in his eyes,
They have dissipated now,
Because he has seen
Us.
Now, all that’s left is love,
And he stretches out his arms
And cries,
“My wonder girls!”
“How was your day?”
And my sister and I smile too,
Because it is good to be
Called something beautiful,
Even if you aren’t,
And we are wonders,
Miracles,
Rarities,
Precious things.
And we are his,
And he is ours,
And we watch the world unfold
In his eyes,
And we see our reflections there,
Glimpses of laughter,
And light
And girls
That have set the world
On fire.

This was inspired by my Dad, and coming home every day and knowing that he loves us.
