when I was little
I dreamed of Paris
going to the Eiffel Tower
falling in love
being happy
visiting for the first time
as the end of one part of my life ended
and the beginning of the rest of life starts

but today the lovers run
they are scared
they have to stay in
as they are being attacked
They are fearful
Fearful for their life
for their future  

today the lovely city
that I dreamed of as a child
now as I am almost an adult
is in my prayers

when I was little
Baghdad was for the Brave and the Heros
and if you went there and came back
you were very lucky
for many close to the heart
went and never came back

but today as the Heroes and Brave men
have returned home
they didn't get all the bad guys
as a family had just lost a loved one
and were grieving
someone so low
decided that they
were not worthy enough for life
and took theirs

today the city that
has made me smile
has made me shed many tears
is in my prayers

when I was a little
we didn't have to worry about getting attacked
till 9/11 when al qaeda knocked down the twin towers
the whole country was at a loss
we drew together
we united as a nation

but today we have a bigger enemy
they are called ISIS
they are so much brutal
and suicide bombers attacked
Lebanon
our hearts go out to you
as we know what it's like to get attacked
just be strong and you can make it through anything

today as I connect with this city
on a level that I would never
want anyone to experience
is in my prayers

when I was little
Japan was just a place
I knew nothing about it other than the stories I'd heard
from my grandparents

but today they suffer
as a very horrible earthquake
hit the coast

today as I learn more about this city
that I once knew nothing about
other then what my grandparents had shared
is in my prayers

when I was little
all these horrible things
didn't bother me
I went on with my life
and I was happy

but today all these things
they make me scared
with my whole life ahead of me
what will happen?
will this happen to us
the USA is very hated
will I be safe?
most of all
am I going to have a future or is it going to get cut short due to all these horrible things

today as I think about all these things
and as everything is happening around
my nation
our world is in my prayers
