The Starry Night
I gaze.
I explore.
I visit the stars,
From my cramped space,
Through my dot of a window.
They swirl.
They gleam
They help me see through the dark night.
They light up the inky sky,
Casting shadows on my unsteady platform.
I wonder,
I think-
“What is their fate?
Will they fall like pins,
Through the eternal night?
Will they slowly fade,
Like a picture overpowered by the sun?”
The town.
My beaten town.
What fate will it have?
Is it like
The blushing stars?
The shining sky?
All through the starry night?
