To My Grandma
I remember walking in the park
just listening to the birds sing.
Sitting on that bench,
watching dogs run and bark
and going on the swing.
We'd sit for hours and hours
just feeling the breeze.
I'd play with my friends
You'd, just smell the flowers
shooing the bees
Somtimes, you'd come over
and hold onto me
making sure I didn't fall.
I'd do flips on the bars and you would cover
my small little back carefully
Telling me "Be careful you're going to fall"
In that sweet sweet voice
I miss so dearly.
Always standing so tall
next to me
I knew I didn't need anyone else,
only you relaly mattered.
I've lived with you
for 14 years you see,
My love for you never shattered.
But this year I already feel,
is going to be a long one.
Because it'll be my first new year, birthday celebration,
Thanksgiving and Christmas
Without you, my dear Grandma.

My grandma just recently passed away and I had written this piece in my creative writing class. It was one of my favorite pieces and reminded me of the good times I had with her so I decided to publish it so I could remember forever.
