Christmas Eve
Look outside and see,
See a white blanket that covers the
once green and luscious grass,
now everything slumbers under the white carpet.
the vibrant colored trees lie dormant under a white fleece,
sparkling icicles hang from the gutter of houses,
A snowflake with it’s intricate lattice design lands on your bright rosey nose.
Inside a giant pine tree stands tall over a mound of presents big and small,
The tree is glittered with valiant colors like lime green, red and yellow, and blue.
The edge of the walls are covered from corner to corner with the illuminating colors of the christmas lights,
The scent of hot chocolate resonates from the kitchen with a batch of freshly baked cookies.
A storm rolls over during the night,
A silent and harmless storm that unleashes flurries that caress your neck,
Now the hours wind down, you lay in your bed restless as you fall into a slumber as you refuse to wait for the next day to unwrap the elegant presents, for Christmas eve was just the beginning.
