With a glimpse I fall like Rome as you strut by,
How can your secrets not erupt from your mind.
My eyes are glass as you stare at my soul,
Where you write your novel of lies.
My musical heart sings it’s love for your smile,
But to you I am the penny in your pocket.
I can’t take it anymore.
I need to be free from your chains of hurt.
The memories falling on my head like a cinderblock,
I lift that hefty cement of pain,
And bandage the wounds of my absurdity.
Just when I thought my heart was dust,
A new broom came and swept up the fragments,
I am the daylight to his eclipse,
And he is the umbrella for my tears.
For now....
