Natures Lullaby
2 am. Still awake,
wanting to close my eyes,
but can’t.
Listening to the wind whistle outside my dark window.
The fieldmouse scavenging for food,
in this freezing nights air.
I dropped some of my sandwich out there earlier,
he might find that.
*Squeak*
I’m hungry.
Down the hall I go.
It’s like someone put the sun in the fridge.
Im blinded.
Cereal for me.
My sister had the last of the turkey.
Poor mouse, did he find that piece I dropped?
Softness all around me, my head lays on a clump of clouds.
The winds whistle is like natures lullaby.
I can hardly keep my eyes open,
My eyes are heavy.
As heavy as a ton of bricks.
I sing a calm, happy song,
Like a lullaby,
it allows me to drift off into a deep sleep.

What inspired me was reading poems that famous writters have written. I hope that people will be able to write a poem in this style, similar to the one I have written.
