Snap.
Snap.
There's a second, there's a minute, the flash of
the light has been gone for seconds.
Time has been frozen , etching itself into history,
syncing into my camera,
cameras hold time.
Some have said photos save memories from ever going away,
while I say they are just meant to be remembered,
meant to be remembered on such a day.
We took many pictures on our very first wedding day.
Snap.
The moment has already passed,
as the clock continues to tick,
each breath we take is a memory that we’ll soon forget.
Cameras snap the good things, like babies and cake,
new jobs, new school, friends staying up late.
But with that one little snap, that moment is gone,
except for hiding in the camera roll...that moment has dissolved.
We look into photographs, see the flash of the camera, feel the breeze or the wind,
that was taken on that very moment ..
but it's not there.
It's been dead,
been dead for years.
so just like we mourn the grave,
we take pictures to remember,
to remember our days.

I wanted to write a deep poem that made you kind of think a little deeper. I didn't want a poem too sad nor too happy , but meaningful
. Photography is something I enjoy and theres a certain beauty in it that I found brilliant for writing.
