I killed a man today
Took away his chance at life
I killed a man today
Stole him from his family, his wife
I killed a man today
With the help of eleven other men
I killed a man today
And sentenced him to his end
We killed a man today
Each one of us agreeing he had to pay
We killed a man today
For the children who would never again see day
We killed a man today
“For the greater good”
We killed a man today
Because the government said we could
They killed a man today
Put a needle in his arm
They killed a man today
Though killing is supposedly wrong
They killed a man today
And put on the murderer’s hide
They killed a man today
And took the place of he who had died
