Growing Up
Remember when you were little and you just sat there and played,
because you thought life was all fun and games
You’d sit there and wonder about all things worthwhile
and you always seemed to have a big smile
But now you’re older and there’s no time to play
or sit there and think that being an adult is all fun and games
Now you just sit there and do taxes and bills
and you seem to miss out on all life’s thrills
You say it sucks and you want your old life back
and you wish all these grown up years were painted in black
But look on the brightside, you got to grow up!
you finally got to see the side of you that’s bold and tough
You made a good choice, by giving up the fun and games
to be a an adult who is strong enough to stand out in the pouring rain

My older siblings always tell me that being an adult is hard and that it isn't as fun as you think, so I took what I knew about what being an adult was like and made a poem.
