Overdose
You're like an antidepressant.
The thought of you lightens the ahce in my chest,
you were my daily, 8 am dose
so throughout the day i didn't have temptation.
The way you spoke melted into my body like the powder I couldn't taste,
the lights in your eyes,
the glow of your smile and the radiance of your skin soaked up tear after tear.
With you,
that bridge of temptation and tragedy
was now a bridge of tranquility.
Throughout our nights,
as the light in my room began to dim
and I was immune to the darkness,
you became my moon, my guiding light.
In the end
you were my own personal drug dealer,
your kisses,
were the prescription antidepressants that my doctor was too afraid to prescribe to me himself,
in fear of an overdose.
