Honey Gold
Your honey gold eyes
Took me by surprise.
They captured me,
Enwrapped my soul,
My entire existence.
I followed you around,
Held on to every word,
Thought,
Wished,
That if I were just like you
I’d be seen.
That if I looked just like you
I’d be loved.
If I talked,
Walked,
And acted just like you,
You’d notice me.
But,
When you did,
My world ripped apart,
Tore me into,
A million pieces.
You left me dry.
Took all I had to offer,
And threw it away,
Like the trash,
Your honey gold eyes
Saw me as.
