Baker Island Rhyme
A desolate place
Not a familiar face
I'm here all alone
Only one square mile
A lone seabird flies
Across the beating sun
There's a lighthouse here
But only the dead are near
An island lost in time
So here I'll stay
Ponder the day away
Wait for night time's sweet relief
There was another time and place
In another time and space
As a child, there I roamed
A deep wood, moss
I made homes for the fairy kind
So long ago it seems
Here on this deserted isle
Lies but one grave on this forsaken square mile
I sit, and watch the grasses grow
Long ago a salty breeze,
Tickled my toes as seabirds flee
Another grave by the sea
I sat, and watched the heather grow,
I sat, and watched the heather grow.
