Silence
  You broke my heart
  not once but many times
But the thing is you never knew
because when a plate drops and breaks,
a loud noise is heard, but when my heart breaks
there is no noise; it’s completely silent.
  When you’d break my heart,
Little did you know that behind my smile,
I held back shouts and wails.
My eyes that you thought gleamed with happiness
were actually sparkling from the formation of tears.
I had fallen in love with you.
  But you didn’t know
because when a bird sings a call,
  signifying its love,
  I didn’t make a sound;
  for I never told you.
So I continued to love you
with a heart that had been broken
in the loud thoughts of my mind
in the actuality of dead silence.
