We Should Be Grass
The stars twinkle
on the expanse
of the sky, like
so many diamonds,
scattered over
navy blue velvet.
Your eyes twinkle
on the landscape
of your face like
sapphires, carefully
placed by God's
gentle hand.
The grass leans
in the wind
whispering to
each other,
their stems
twisting together.
You lean
closer to me
whispering in
my ear
your hands
entwining with mine.
