Learning To Hate Purple.
It's weird.
Or rather, it's strange.
When we were all small, we bought that pack of highlighters With all the colors mixed in.
Then at school, we would show them off.
My favorite is purple.
Now, I look around the room,
And all I see are yellow highlighters,
And without hesitating or taking in my observation,
Out of that colorful pack of highlighters I have,
I pull out a yellow one too.
I just took notice of this when I see that purple highlighter at the bottom on my bag.
But I don't feel the need to pick it up.

What inspired me to write this piece was the observation I made in my English classroom first, and throughout the day. The piece is suppossed to convey the message of conformity to the reader and how people change from embracing the their differences to concealing them.
