has been written in blush, wine
and ice cream. The curtains and
the covers used to be cozy.
The shoes a near fit with a faint wink.
The maple with sapstreak
but we get two pints of syrup.
Long talks invigorate the heart.
You with a sigh and myself with tears.
Years have we and we are eternally amiss
to each other's ears. The typhoons
shift over us. Controversy is gunfire
with the bullets of love we shoot.
The fire scorches, bold and fierce.
Hearts sink like anchors to our knees.
But the breeze sings and whispers
of fondness flow to our fragile minds.
The sun kisses our skin,
Clouds paint this sky, so calm.
And all the memories I want to see,
Are everything good between Mom and me.

You have really good imagery. I like the sentence where you said "Clouds paint this sky, so calm."
