Today, you told me
We could no longer
Be together.
At least I had left
A token to ensure
The day had really happened.
Your token, your scent,
Washed off of me
In the shower last night.
Now, your scent
Is ingrained in my skin
Yet again.
But you said
We can no longer
Be together.
So.
Now.
I’ll wash away your scent
And hope to God
Your memory goes with it.
