a small sister to pick on
a dad who will always help
and a mom to confide in

I come from so many sports
pushed to try everything out there

I come from a big brown house
a pond in the back to fish in
a curvy swimming pool that's always cold
and a big green yard that's a pain to cut

I come from unfrequent family dinners
except for perch dinners on fridays
always having hamburger for spaghetti and goulash
but there will always be brownies on the counter

I come from church but not every sunday
cinnamon sugar donuts and orange juice
mixing speedway hot chocolate and french vanilla coffee
religion class every tuesday night

I come from loving fashion
getting caught up on america’s next top model and project runway
helping my family shop
always having my closet color coded

I come from seeing my grandparents 4 times a year
every christmas and christmas eve spent with them
every person in the house in a spartan shirt
no where to eat but smalley’s bar and ice cream

this is where I come from
