My insides
He tried to grab ahold,
of me.
He grabbed my heart;
pulled me
down
fast.
Every tear; his doing
He told me I wasn’t enough
hips… too wide
lips… too small
eyes… didn’t shine
My encouraging words
crumpled. Like my so-called
“dreams”
He taunts me.
GIVE UP.
I almost do; I’m defeated.
But I’m held back… wait.
Was he wrong? Am I enough? Am I still pure?
But I know
for certain
he is real
he tried to grab ahold of me.
