Illness
Rosy cheeks, and bright blue eyes, all must be well
No outward ailments
The condition is invisible.
Young soul trapped within an ill body
Every moment is a struggle
Bricks on shoulders
Cloudy thinking
More doctors than fingers can count
Stress and confusion
Counting sheep late into the night
Unable to nod off into the land of dreams
The fatigue is ceaseless.
Attempting daily tasks
Hopes to get it all done soon dissipate.
Through it all my faith is unwavering.
I hold on tight, drawing upon my inner strength.
The effects of the battle are not entirely negative.
Greater resilience and character ensue.
Peace and joy still abound.
The light breaks through the darkness.
Health will be restored.
