In My Corner

my corner is cold,
with my back leaning
against the cold, metal lockers
alone in my corner.
i can see everything
the whole world
that is this hallway
blindingly fluorescent
are the lights and
all of them are on in
the drop board
ceiling sky
so, i sit
in my corner as the
smell of a scented
candle drifts past and
two laughing students walk
past my corner
