Just Because I'm Different

I’m unique
I’m not like you
I’m not the person
You thought I was.

I’m different
And for that,
I’ll welcome you
To hate me.

Let me explain
Why.

I don’t feel any
“Stuff” for anyone.
I feel love for everyone
Regardless of pronouns.

I’m not limited
To one gender
But I’m not more
All the time.

Know who I am?
No? Then don’t guess
Because you’ll only
Hate me more,

If you do.

You’ll deny me a job
Because of who I am.
You’ll deny me my love
Because of who I can love.

You’ll shun me from you
Because of what I can’t feel.
You’ll deny me my rights as human,
Just because
I’m different.

And I hate you for that.
I can’t stand the close-mindedness.
Damn you,
I don’t give a damn.

I can’t be myself
Just because
I’m different?

I never knew
How simple it was
To be shunned by
Society.

I didn’t think
They’ll hate me
For something
I didn’t choose.

You can’t deny me
My rights as a human being!
I’m no alien,
I’m only thirteen!

But you already did,
You don’t seem to care
About others rights
And you’re the country’s leader,
For heaven’s sake.

I guess it’s too bad
I’m different, then.

I did research about the LGBTQIA rights in my country and I found out that my country doesn't support the LGBTQIA community at all. I am also a member of the LGBTQIA community and I kept it a secret, only telling a friend.
