Distance
As I lay in my bed
I think of how the years have went by
How the water swallows the days
How much time has gone
You’re missing an important part of my life
I know you don’t want to be away
but you have to go
It hurts you and I, everyone else too
How fast water swallows the days
We can’t get back the time that’s been lost
I hate the distance
When you’re thousands of miles away
There’s nothing I can do about it
Time blowing away like lilies in the wind
Water swallowing the days like the hurricane this distance has made
Maybe one day things will be different
You’ll be home and things will finally be normal
But for now you’ll keep travelling
I’ll keep growing,
And the water will keep swallowing the days
that we will never get back…
