Show time!
“Up and at ‘em!”
The loud, echoing voice rang in my ears
as the small crowd gathered ‘round
for our next direction
The instructor told us to do well
‘’Break a leg”, she said
as the wide red curtain drew open.
The calming music began,
as the spinning and dancing started.
As I twirled, round and round,
I felt the light breeze tickle at my legs.
The final twirl was at its ending
yet it was dizzying
and after the curtain’s close,
I fell to my knees on the polished wooden stage
We all laughed giddily
And for the first time in my life
I actually felt like I was doing something astounding
