Summer fading fast
FALL
The warm memories of summer
slowly melt away
as the leaves turn many colors.
My mind drifts off
with memories of the sea.
Longing to be
where the campfire crackles
as the falling sun colors the sky.
Still hearing the music
of the willow branches
sweeping the water's surface
in a distant stream.
Now as the green leaves turn to gold
the campfire memories grow old.
My mind drifting off to sea
sails right back to me.
Just as the seasons turn
it's time for new memories to earn
the same nostalgic pleasures
the ones of summer bring.
