An ode to the time of year
that change overcomes the trees
and takes root in my being.
As the leaves fall
my hopes go through the wind with them
and a feeling of freedom
forever sets until the weather gets warmer in spring.

The bonfires crackle
and scarves woven tight
the smell of s'mores roasting
and the stars gleam so bright.
An ode to you for turning everything golden
the world a tint of orange and red
and in my eyes
a fire begins.

I live for clean fresh air
to snuggle me tight
along with these fuzzy blankets
I cuddle at night

An ode to you fall
for being something of change
I cannot imagine a time
when things weren't okay
