Superman Ice Cream
Goofy eyes,
Sly grin,
Ice cream dripping from my chin,
Life jacket so orange,
I’m a traffic cone,
Sailing across the quiet lake alone,
Superman was my favorite flavor,
Shown by scraps I was saving for later
Days these memories happened are gone,
Never forgotten with each passing dawn,
These happened in an instant,
But time drags on,
Pictures speak a thousand words,
Yet stories go on longer still,
Cherish these from summer’s warmth,
Until the time of winter’s chill
We all had a superhero,
Imagined in our dreams,
Though we changed,
Time has too,
The kid inside of us bursting at the seams.
Have one more ice cream cone for me,
We all had childhoods,
Make them as never-ending as can be
