The darkest before the dawn           The one of the horizon
When the Children lurk the shadows    Expecting the rise
Exploring the true globe.                   Endlessly patient

The parents locking their dome      The one called Midnight.
Tucked into bed by fear
Getting lost in reality.

The needle filled darkness
Covered with black holes
Eyes filled floating galaxies.

The one cowering in the corner
Razors covered in red die
Speaking with shadows.

The twisted doppelganger's reflection
Night light as home
Bloodshot pupils.

The breathe of the newborn
The machines last spike
The one left speechless from a rope.

The one in closed chambers
Discovering oneself
Getting lost gazing at space.

The kind lost in virtual reality
Closed off humanity
Captured into another.

The one left alone
Abandoned by all else
Speaking to a mirror

The last two left
Taking upon the world’s acceptance
Philosophers of the mind.

The author's comments:

What inspired me is one night i was laying in bed and I couldn't sleep, and next door I hear a couple arguing and what kind of effect that has on kids. So the next day the idea stuck in my head and i wrote it down. How while we lay down tucked away safely in bed we dont know what other people are going through.
