As I jump off the steps of the big yellow bus
The sun glistens, the grass is green,
and I can hear the birds chirping
The air is a perfect type of warm
and the sun is bright in the sky
I stroll down the sidewalk
With the Buicks, BMWs, and Cadillacs sitting in the driveways
The lawn care service people
working meticulously
to get their paychecks
Most all of the sidewalks and driveways are empty
All the doctors, lawyers and engineers at their day jobs
who are Mom’s and Dad’s by night
I see a lady sitting in her garage
A white dog runs to joins her
and she gently pulls the identical
lawn chair next to her
just a tad bit closer
the sun shines on the day
like the moon shines in the night
I see all these things

This was about my walk home from the bus stop one day when everything seemed perfect and serene
