All Thats Left
All That’s Left
You came into my life just in time
When I lost all hope
When there was no light behind the clouds
You came and lit my path
I wish I could have done the same
Just when everything was turning around
You were falling apart.
It was impossible to shake
The darkness that surrounded you
I tried to be your light
The letter I wrote you
The late night phone calls
The two hour naps
The cries caused by life and stress
Everything broke you
I tried to pick up the pieces
I tried to be your glue
Eventually even glue expires
You gave up
I kept putting forth effort
All that’s left is darkness
It surrounds you
It consumes you
It continues to drag you down
Now you look for comfort elsewhere
All that’s left are distant memories
All that’s left are shadows of the past
You pulled away
There were no more late night drives
School night sleepovers
Rants about our parents
You completely detached
Where are you?
Who are you?
Do you miss me?
Did you find happiness?
I hope you did, I hope you do
Even though I no longer consume you’re thoughts
You consume mine
I hope you’re okay
I hope you’re loved
I hope you found what you were looking for
All that’s left
Are
