The Road Trip
My thoughts were debating against each other,
Since I still had an option
I battled myself
Should I go or not?
I still had time to decide
It won't be that bad
Right?
All packed up
I was ready to head off
To spend sixteen hours in car
Yay me!
I didn't understand one thing
Why not a plane?
I wanted room to walk, eat, and breathe
But I had to face reality
I would to be stuck in a cramped crowded car,
For sixteen hours
Screech! Bump!
The car tipped-toed to a stop
Of course, that HAD to happen
I didn't see that coming
The trip just kept getting better and better
A punctured tire got the best of us
Took 2 hours for it to be fixed
Off on the road again
Hoping for the best
The trees swayed as the wind touched them
All my negativity blew away at once,
as I felt the beautiful beastly breeze
The sky was as bright as the moon
I felt as if I could touch it
Still couldn't believe
The car was in one piece
We just hoped it stayed that way
On the road back home

After reading this poem, I hope the audience learns to appreciate adventure and family. During the trip I was very negative, but I learned that even if there are more "downs" than "ups" you have to treasure those moments.
