Excitement 

                      flooded my mind      but parallel to excitement
                            was angst    A healthy worry
                                        4:00 AM             I stepped into The Detroit Airport 

                                                                                        Fear flooded my mind
                                                                “I can’t even remember   the last time I was on a plane”
                                                                                            I thought to myself
                                                                                the plane ascended from the comfort
                                                                                        of a “first world country”
                                                                                I was headed to the country of mountains

                                                                                                      Port -au-prince, Haiti
            a massive reality slammed
           into me like a de-railed train
           I had made it

Joy flooded my mind        to be able to pour all of my time
all of my energy                           my Love
to those who have nothing

        Excitement flooded my mind           Fear flooded my mind
                      Happiness
                                  Love
                            all of this at once
      it was perfect
   it was Joy
