Memory Poem
I wonder if people think it's easy
playing the long beautiful instrument
silver with many keys
high range
The long process of manufacturing
hard to make and to some hard to play
I am there, standing
as tall as the hairs standing up on a scared cat
Nervous, shaky, scared
Picture only catching detail
but not thoughts
being seen:
A short ponytail pulled back w/ turquoise headband
looking back at this moment remembering
the exact two short pieces
Allegro and Courtly Dances
connecting to the long rehearsal times
lessons and practices, going over
and over for perfection
rehearsing with piano, shiny like
patten leather from afar the many
black and with keys losing yourself
when counting measures
resting for perfection
