the sea
I go down to the sea in the morning
Its mid-June, and a very overcast day
I feel at peace among the water
Its beauty I feel is familiar
I feel it will rain soon
I am prepared for the rain
I see the beauty that resides in this very spot
With the muted tones as if all the color was gone from the world
The only color is the seaweeds faint pumpkin orange
The Waves crash at the sand in an angry rage
The Siegel’s are singing there morning songs
The ocean speaks to me
Not saying, but singing
It sings the songs of the world
These songs are the ones of my ancestors
The bugs are horrid, so I shy away from the clumps of seaweed
I sit on the wet sand and appreciate the beauty of the sea
I listen to the waves crashing in and watch clouds getting darker and closer
I know the rain is getting close
But I stay seated on the damp ground
It starts to rain
