If you missed a Vikings game you were slipping
Every Friday night the house was packed, even though it was blowout
Back when Devin Gardner ran the show
And Cameron Gordon caught all his throws
Back when Coach Carter was at Ford Field every year
Every game was away game and they still won
Not only did they, the score was always in the 60’s range
That was when Inkster was on top
And every game you heard them pads pop
Friday Night under the Lights was the place to be
With your neighbors, co-workers, and friends
But it was a bad day when we had to see it end
Now Inkster is closed
No more lights, no more Ford Field
Just a memory on how things used to be
And just a prayer on how we want the future to be
Don’t worry we will get there one day
And then we’ll be able to see Vikings play
It would bring my heart full of joy
Just to hear Devin scream one more time, “OH BOY!!”
