The Iron Incident
My friends and I entered the world of Minecraft
Pixelated grassy hills
Icy mountains in the distance
A river snaking along the ground
A forest full of tall, blocky trees
We decided to go explore a cave together,
Dark and gloomy
Might be monsters
But treasure too.
Kylie found some iron
"My iron!" She said.
But she couldn't mine it.
She asked Ashley for help
"No, I want it"
"But it's mine!"
"You can't get it though!"
They argue
Back and forth
Back and forth
Back and forth
I begin to ignore them
Continue exploring
The argument is escalating
"I won't let you take it!"
And I turn around just in time to see
Kylie destroying the iron!
"You can't get it that way," I said.
"Stop that!" Ashley said.
She doesn't listen.
"If I can't have it, you can't have it!"
The iron block is destroyed.
Kylie turns on Ashley
"You stole my iron!"
"No I didn't! You just destroyed it!"
"YOU STOLE MY IRON!"
Kylie attacks Ashley,
hitting her repeatedly,
"Stop! STOP!"
"Stop it, Kylie!"
One hit away from killing her
One hit away
The seconds lengthen...
Will she really follow through with this?
Is it even worth it?
The final blow is close at hand,
Lingering just out of reach...
But it doesn't come.
She stopped.
Away goes the confusion
Here comes the anger...
"WHAT WAS THAT FOR?"
"Why did you do that?"
"Don't do that again!"
Why would she do that?
All for a piece of iron.
It isn't even real.
Not worth it.
