chameleon
I feel like a yellow chameleon
adrift in a crowd of red ones
trying to change my colors to fit with the tide
but can't
but the edge sometimes feels lonley
sometimes I don't always feel like being alone
sometimes though I look everywhere
I never feel like I belong or am home
but I feel too yellow to be red
so decided to be me instead
out on the cliff edge staring at the ocean
while a flock of humanity gathers at the beach
and I realize that the view is beautiful here too.
