Riot (The Start of the American Revolution)
Torch light illuminates the glowering faces
Fists pump into the smoke filled air
"Freedom!" they cry as the man tries to run
And, when that trick fails, he fires his gun
The bullet whizzes through the smoke
Finding its target in a tiny bloke
A death that will cause the utmost rage
The death of a lad eleven years of age
The rage becomes fuel for more than a riot
Freedom will come, though we'll have to fight for it
And if this means war, we'll do what we must
'Cause we have a leader; in God we trust

I wrote this as a history assignment. It speaks of Christopher Seider, the first death of the American Revolution. He was killed by a man named Ebenezer Richardson in Boston, just a few days before the Boston Massacre. Over two thousand people mourned at Seider's funeral.
