The girl that could fly
The girl that could fly
She would soar from rooftop to rooftop
High above the sky
As she looked down her peers were the size of ants.
All her troubles drifted away the higher she went.
She would stop to see what she was missing.
She would stand on a roof,
precariously at the edge without ever falling.
She was light as a feather and ever so elegant when landing.
Soaring so smoothly, silently, suavely.
Never boasting or bragging
she is a free, yet still lonely bird
The wind is her only friend, embracing her, and comforting her
And as she settles for the night on a roof again,
she looks out to the stars and dreams
that she could fly to the moon and back,
dancing with the stars,
everyday.
