Dear Society

Dear Society,

are you happy now? Can you see what you've done?

I am sick of your stereotypes, your rules, your codes. . .

If a boy dresses nicely he's gay.

If you don't get good grades you're idiotic.

But if you do you're a nerd.

Teenagers are irresponsible.

You have to be skinny to be beautiful.

But if you are skinny you're anorexic.

Blondes are dumb.

If you're depressed you're an emo.

But if you're happy you're naive.

Prosperous? You're a snob.

Shy? You're banal.

You have to dress nicely but not be extravagent.

You have to be astucious but not brainy.

And of course, if you're not mean to everyone you're a softie.

Dear Society, do you understand? Can you see what you're doing now?

Can't you see those girls? They're faking a smile, cutting their wrists, thinking they're fat, thinking they're ugly.

They're not but in your eyes they are.

And those boys. The ones that can't do what they love because they're so scared of what you'll think. Or those other ones, bullying others to impress they're friends.

You're creating monsters with your predetermined titles.

We're a mess.

Well guess what? I don't care what you think anymore. That's right. I DON'T CARE! So shut up and go away because we're creating a new society. A better one. No one needs you to judge us anymore. We are not scared of you.
